Cobblestone Streets

I love visiting old towns with lots of brick buildings and cobblestone streets. Here is a view from one of my recent day trips to Downtown, Wilmington, NC. It’s an old harbor city with lots of history to it. Many of the structures are made of brick. I will have more to share in the future from my little excursion. I couldn’t decide if I like this photo better in color or black and white. What do you think?

Share The Path

Shine your light along the way and help brighten someone’s day. A journey faced alone is never fun, but share the path and help someone. Our destinations are unknown, but there is no need to go it alone. So if you ever need a friend, on me you surely can depend. Because life’s too hard to face apart, please let me in and heal your heart.© ~Mac

Light My Path

When the path before me was dark and I could not find my way
I looked out into all the shadows and thought I saw a little ray
Not knowing where I’m going or if I was even on the road
All I knew was that I carried a terribly burdensome load
Then through the misty hallways a light it did appear
Beauty of its presence did bring to my eye a tear
At last I can see my angel sent from up above
Sent to be my aide to fill my void with love

There Will Always Be Signs

Even when your path is chosen there will always be signs along the way. These that will try to tell you how your journey should look or in an attempt to deter you. Don’t let them dictate your way, you are in control of your own destiny.

Walk At Dusk

A quote from my favorite movie to accompany this photo. A sunset walk through our neighborhood, a most beautiful sight.

“Dusk is just an illusion because the sun is either above the horizon or below it. And that means that day and night are linked in a way that few things are there cannot be one without the other yet they cannot exist at the same time. How would it feel I remember wondering to be always together yet forever apart?” ― Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook

I’m So Confused

This signage has me all confused, and so does the water tower.

Surfing This Way

Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge

Recently I read that a local teen in my area named Micha Cantor, was a Junior Pro surfer for Team USA. At only 15 years old, Micha just returned from competing in Portugal, where they won fifth place internationally. Micha has been surfing since around age five, with his father. His dad quickly saw that he had a love for the sport and his parents have nurtured his passion.

“It takes a lot to qualify for the International World’s Surfing competition, starting with participating in this organization called, “Prime,” and you qualify for USA championships through that program, and then go surf at USA championships and then from there, they pick six surfers for each age division and they picked me this last year,” Micha says. Source

Homeschool is their choice when it comes to his education. As the pull of the sport is time-consuming, this allows him to work around his schedule and pursue his dreams. Of course, as a homeschooling parent myself this is exciting and great to read! I love the doors that homeschool opens because of the ability for your child to fit [it] into their journey, verses working everything else around a long day of traditional school.

Micha’s dream is to be chosen for the 2020 Olympic team. This will be the first time in history that surfing will be part of the Olympic games. Source/Photo
