In a world full of chaos I am drawn to order and straight lines. They bring me a sense of peace and happiness. Perhaps it is because with life around me going every which way; the hustle and bustle of people is enough at times to make me withdraw into my anxiety. I look for things that are neat, organized and precise. To capture these things in a photo is amazing and gives me great pleasure. ~Mac

A Historic Surprise

If you missed my post earlier this past weekend, I shared that I was venturing to Charleston, SC for my first time. My best friend and I were off for a girl’s weekend, a much needed break. So, with camera in hand, she gave me a tour of the historical city. There will certainly be more photos shared in the coming weeks, but I had to share this pleasant surprise I came across.

As we were on our way out of town, we drove by this splendid vehicle in front of a building that did it justice for sure. I asked (or more like squeeled delightfully) for my friend to pull over. Being a lover of cars, this was quite the treat to come across. I hope you enjoy this fabulous, classic Rolls Royce as much as I did.

Military Memorial

Near the site of the former Air Force Base in Myrtle Beach, SC, sits this memorial site for Veterans. Along with this, there are multiple fighter jets and a repurposed, metal statue created by a local artist. All sits on a beautiful wooded piece of land.

Circle of Life

 

We’re born, we live, we die- It is a natural part of life

A child that depends on its parents to survive this world

Striving to become self sufficient and desiring adulthood

Only to become an adult and wanting to relive its youth

Searching, always searching to find what is life’s purpose 

Creating within ourselves desires, dreams and passions

Always working towards happiness and hope in tomorrows

But, do we ever really find what we so desperately look for?

Riches abound, things are plenty and all our needs are met

Yet, always searching, never content with what we have

Looking for love, discovering loss and feeling much sadness

Pain looms and mingles with the emotions we wish to forget

Aging, growing weaker as wasted time keeps disappearing

Until, it reclaims us, a vessel used for its silly circle of life©

Path To The Sky

This week the Daily Post would have us talk about the “Path.” As we are coming to the end of the year and 2017 just around the corner. Forcing us to look to the future perhaps and consider what lays ahead.

I will just share with you these photos I’ve taken that represent the limitless possibilities of the future. No, there is no path, for the “Sky is the limit” or perhaps even the sky holds no bounds. Such a wonderful image it makes to how wide open life is and how far we can go.

So, as I look to the journey ahead and recount the year gone by, I only know that there is so many ways that life can take me. I am excited, hesitant, full of anticipation and also self-doubt. But aren’t those all emotions we deal with? So, most of all I shall bolster my confidence, face the future head on and look to the sky.©
