The Best Medicine

Laughter, considered “the best medicine” and I would have to agree. Through so many of the hard moments that my son, Philip, faced, he still would laugh and smile. He was always trying to make others happy, even when he was holding the weight of the world on his shoulders. He had an amazing sense of humor, often very sarcastic like me.

When Philip passed away, I was adamant that his funeral not be somber, he wouldn’t have wanted that. He would want everyone to smile and laugh like he did, up until the end. So, we reminisced about his life and shared funny stories, for there are many involving him. It was amazing to hear others speak fondly of their own experiences with Philip and it uplifted us all during a very difficult time.

I still keep laughter in my life, even though there are days where I cannot hardly stop the tears. Some may feel guilt for having happiness when they have lost a loved one so tragically, but I do not. I know that laughter, happiness and a smile are all the things that keep Philip’s spirit alive. © -Mac

Nothing Remains

Released my soul, I set it free, but it keeps coming back to me
I told it lies, called it names, but says it loves me all the same
So now I can’t feel a thing, but also no joy does anything bring
Emptied of all the bitter pain, but then nothing does remain©

The Daily Post

Awaken

I wake up with the sunshine on my face
A warm embrace
I wake up to fragrant flowers in the air
Joy every where
I wake up with love down in my heart
You do impart
I wake up to the sound of much laughter
Happily ever after©

Is It All An Illusion?

Is happiness an illusion, just a pure delusion?
Cards in the hand of a master, going faster and faster
Playing tricks on the masses, as time passes
Disappearing into smoke, leaving the crowd to choke

Fooled again by the trickster, his hands move quicker
So again this joy from me is gone, yet I live on
Causing my heart to disappear, gone forever I do fear
Fool me once shame on me, will I ever be free?

He waves a wand, then everything is all gone
Leaving us in wonderment, as the final curtain is rent
Is happiness an illusion, just pure confusion?
Back to the start we begin, leaving me to wonder again©

You Can Never Satisfy Them All

Nobody can ever please everyone all of the time

In fact you won’t even satisfy half of them partly

Desiring to do things just to make others happy

One will accomplish gratifying nobody equally

Existence

 

Eagerly we coalesce in pursuit of what will bring happiness and eternal serenity
Exploring through the generations unimaginable designs of brilliant ideaologies
Endeavoring to remember the beginning but looking for a way to find the ending
Eternally struggling against the powers of being while hoping we can cheat death
Enduring the bitter sufferings that molest us and find strength as we masquerade 
Embracing daylight in all of its warmth but not forgetting of night’s tranquil tune
Effortlessly some will pursue riches with fortitude while others arduously will fail
Effecting the world with one whisper and holding the power to build or annihilate
Entreating you to analyze choices wisely while you also take risks with a passion
Endlessly searching to find what existence is all about and grasping the answers©
