Rainbows All Around

These photos were taken in Surfside Beach, SC; a very colorful little seaside town.  The following art piece was done by a local artist (Thomas Simpson, 2009). It is painted on the side of an entire restaurant. Quite eye-catching for this normal cinder block building.

You will find many places with very colorful houses, on the beach and off; they are on stilts  (as you will see often on the West Coast, but not as often on the East Coast). This is a beautiful place, just a 20 minute drive from Myrtle Beach and less tourist ridden. Many of these houses are for rent, weekly, monthly, exc. There are also locals and many great local restaurants within walking and golf cart distance.

The Ocean Song

dsc_0041-2

by Mac©

I could listen all night long to the sound of your rhythmic song

Your waves they splash to and fro as the waters ebb and flow

I shut my eyes, listen close as I hear the song you chose

A perfect pitch, a lucid role as you sing a tranquil solo

The melody touches deep, soothing me, I fall asleep

Sands of time are lost to me as I drift out to sea

Dancing on waters vast, but night will not last

So I bid you, adieu! Oh Ocean, I do love you©

Dream, Dare, Fly

“The bird dares to break the shell, then the shell breaks open and the bird can fly openly. This is the simplest principle of success. You dream, you dare and and you fly.”

Reflect Upon

“It is when you lose sight of yourself, that you lose your way. To keep your truth in sight you must keep yourself in sight and the world to you should be a mirror to reflect to you your image; the world should be a mirror that you reflect upon.” ~C. JoyBell C.

To Land or Land

I love this photo, here in Myrtle Beach, as the clouds curved with the coast line. But, there, right in the middle of my picture, flies the stupid commercial plane! I hate these things. They are always flying about during tourist season, streaming along their banners of some sort. Usually for a tourist store, of which there are TONS (like they can’t find them)! Well, eventually it will land and so I use this photo as two fold, in the Tuesday Photo Challenge: Land. To land or land? Mac©

Fly Free, Into Solitude

The silence is deafening, full of loneliness, emptiness
I wish to go away, flying free to the sea
Listening to the waves, my soul is renewed in solitude©

Those Golden Hues

The light has begun its journey across the sky
First peeks the rays of a pink iridescent light
Then comes the hues of gold that make me cry
In perfection is the orange, as leaves the night

Here comes the sun peaking from its slumber
Kissing the sky gently, so beautifully infusing
A paint brush and pallet, colors I can’t number
Darkness to daylight this brilliance it is fusing©
