Finding Beauty Anywhere

Finding beauty even in the midst of sorrow. For me there is just something about photographs of grave yards that is so serene. I couldn’t help but capture this one, with the rod-iron fence and the beautiful fall colors in the background.  For some it may seem odd, but why not celebrate beauty wherever we can find it.

Fleeting Snow

Fleeting Snow

Snow falling and crystals form
But you melt my heart with your touch

I cannot remain in your arms my love
Falling into oblivion is my curse

I gave my soul to fly among men
And my beauty is fleeting

One touch and I am water on the floor
Never to flutter to the ground again

Cultivate Yourself

One Photo At A Time

The evenings are finally cooling down as we get into the fall season. Hubby, Kids and I have been venturing out for more walks to enjoy the great weather. Since starting my blogging journey I have become more “in tune” with my photography and find myself snapping pictures more frequently. Often apologizing for interrupting the rhythm of a walk or flow of conversation to stop for a photo opportunity. But, Hubby said something intuitive to me thee other day that stuck. “It’s okay, you are living life through one photo at a time.” In other words, I am stopping to smell the roses. And, I’m really enjoying the simple beauties or even at times oddities, on my journey.

So, today I hope you too will take the time to enjoy something in your life that you may take for granite. Or, stop to enjoy a simple beauty that often is glanced over in your busy day. We are not promised tomorrow, not even the next moment, so don’t forget to live one photo at a time!

Mossy Beams

“The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity… and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.”~ William Blake

I came across this one, quite old tree, standing very much alone in the center of a parking lot, of all places. It was beautifully spectacular with its mossy limbs and beams of sunlight dancing through branches. So many passing by, not stopping to wonder at the radiance of this tree and perhaps ponder the life that it has seen.

The Roads Most Traveled

“The most beautiful thing about the most beautiful roads is that the destination is forgotten and the journey becomes the destination itself!” ~Mehmet Murat ildan

Do not fret, I was not the driver but the passenger whilst snapping these photos. Hubby and I ran some errands together last week and these amazing scenes were caught in the journey. Just our normal routes home, but the clouds and rays of beauty could not be overlooked.

A’Round’ The Town

“Patterns exist in our seemingly patternless lives, and the most common pattern is the circle.”~Dean Koontz, Deeply Odd

Spent some time out and about the neighborhood today. It was a great chance for me to grab some photos for two challenges I wanted to participate in. I decided that I’d combine them into one piece. I used my iPhone 6Plus camera and Corel PaintShop Pro for editing. I’d welcome some feedback!

Seagulls

I made a recent visit down to the local inlet and took some beautiful shots of seagulls. They perched so perfectly in a row for me. The greens were so vivid and the shadows, mingled with reflections off the water, were magnificent!
