Golden Haze

“Romance is the glamour which turns the dust of everyday life into a golden haze.”~Elynor GlynIMG_5042“Golden Haze” by~Southern by Design

When the heat and humidity are intense during the summer season there are times when the sky gets hazy. I enjoyed this vantage point-  the sun was on its way down and made a golden haze.

Life’s Like…

I prefer the quote, “Life’s a beach.” However, one of my Gram’s favorite sayings was, “Life’s like a roll of toilet paper, the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.”

A Photo a Week Challenge: Cut by a River

“Life in us is like the water in a river.” ~Henry David Thoreau

Around here there aren’t many “rivers” as most large bodies of water are the ocean, water ways or inlets. Here is a photo from Murrell’s Inlet. It is a fabulous little spot outside of Myrtle Beach. Lots of marshes, fishing docks and beautiful photo opportunities.

The Love Of Food

52 Week Photo Challenge~Week 2~Food

“There is no love sincerer than the love of food.” ~George Bernard Shaw

This would be considered a picture of perfection for me. Coffee and a cinnamon roll are my two favorite things. Not healthy, but when I want to begin my day with a splurge, this is it!

Sit A While

“When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing – just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?”~ Ralph Marston

Sunday Trees ~ Photo Challenge

These are my entries for Becca’s (from On Dragonfly Wings with Buttercup Tea blog) Sunday Trees – 247 challenge.

“Consider a tree for a moment. As beautiful as trees are to look at, we don’t see what goes on underground – as they grow roots. Trees must develop deep roots in order to grow strong and produce their beauty. But we don’t see the roots. We just see and enjoy the beauty. In much the same way, what goes on inside of us is like the roots of a tree.”~ Joyce Meyer

I visited this small, historical, coastal town this spring; came across a few beautiful and unique, trees. I love the older structures with them. I always think of the things these aged trees have seen and witnessed in their long lives.
