Am I Strong Enough?

I search into the abiss, pondering the choices in front of me
Considering all facets and still I remain torn from understanding

You leave me weak and frail yet I continue to need your cure
What is this hold that you have over me? Keeping my secrets hid

Please release me from this thing that is ruining my existence
Rather to be an empty vessel than to be owned by this cruel mind

Controversy is my bed fellow and strife is the mistress of all
Each moment that I am in their presence I am lost more to them

Yet it is of my own doing that I find myself entangled within
What will become of me? I know escape is only for the strongest©

Pursuing Self

woman-1539416_640

Women are a mystical creature. One that men have a very difficult time figuring out, quite often. To be a woman takes much patience and fortitude. We are the glue that often holds things together, yet we can be as fragile as a porcelain doll. We have hearts that are easily broken by life and souls that are easily turned cold. Abused and battered internally, we still must go forward- having in mind only those that rely so heavily upon our being strong.

How do we care for ourselves when it feels as though our insides are attempting to tear us in two? This is the great mystery that I have yet to discover, but here I am holding it together. I’m still standing, still pursuing dreams and passions. I refuse to let myself come apart! I refuse to let life have the victory over my being. Tapping into the reserves that life has yet to siphon from me, I will continue on, in pursuit of answers to this journey’s destination.© ~Mac

Little Miss Independent

“Be that strong girl that everyone knew would make it through the worst, be that fearless girl, the one who would dare to do anything, be that independent girl who didn’t need a man; be that girl who never backed down.” ~Taylor Swift

Briefly in response to today’s Daily Prompt: Fierce. When I see this word I immediately think of a woman. In our history society saw us as a lesser person from men, imparting on our gender a degrading place in the roll as a woman. In other societies and cultures there is still to this day some that do not respect women and see us as lesser beings. This is just a sad reality.

Although I do not advocate for the liberal stances on abortion, Hillary Clinton or overly aggressive beliefs of women power; I do believe that women need to step up and be a presence in this world! We were made to be nurturers and have emotions, this is often what separates us from men. We should not see these as weaknesses, for I have found them to be strengths.

God gave us as a gift to men, but it was because he was not whole on his own, he needs us. It is truly not an “us verses men” but it is a togetherness that we share that really makes us stronger. So, here’s to women who practice being fiercely independent and here’s to the men in our lives that except us for the strong women that we are!

Support & Strength~Women

“I want to be around people that do things. I don’t want to be around people anymore that judge or talk about what people do. I want to be around people that dream and support and do things.” ~Amy Poehler

th-25Today I am speaking especially to women. I want to encourage you to be a source of support and strength to thee other women in your life! It is not only our jobs but, we can be a great example to everyone in this world. So often women will put each other down. I know that I have been both on the receiving end as well as the giving. I have learned over the years that it is not a strong woman that will act in this manner. It is weakness that leads to the back biting and tearing down, along with a lack of confidence in yourself.

th-26We need to carry each other when one falls or is in a weakened state. We have so many responsibilities in this life. Often we are moms, spouses, girl friends, friends, daughters, sisters, employees, bosses and the list goes on. We have so very many hats to wear, but the greatest should be that of strength and support for others!
